West Columbia is a city in Lexington County on the west bank of the Congaree River, directly across from downtown Columbia. State Street and Meeting Street have restaurants and shops, and the riverwalk along the water is one of the area's favorite places to walk and bike.

Lexington Medical Center's main campus is here, and Columbia Metropolitan Airport is close by, so West Columbia is popular with hospital staff, frequent flyers and anyone who works downtown or at the university.

Most of West Columbia is in Lexington County School District Two, with some addresses on the western edge in Lexington One. We confirm the schools for the exact address.

The housing is mostly established: mid-century homes, cottages and ranches close to the river, and newer subdivisions further west toward Lexington. Prices often compare well with similar homes on the Columbia side of the river.
